Movie review

The success of the entire film lies on Poorna's shoulders.

Cast: Poorna, Harshavardhan Rane, Ravibabu, Chalapati Rao, Rajeswari

Director: Ravi Babu

Filmmaker Ravi Babu always presents something new in his films and true to his earlier works, the director has tried to adopt a unique storyline for this horror film too.

Avunu revolves around newly-married couple Mohini (played by Poorna) and Harsha (Hartshvardhan Rane) who shift to their new home called Classic Homes. Right from the time they move in, supernatural incidents take place and a spirit stalks Mohini. Meanwhile their neighbour Vicky, who can interact with spirits, claims that the house is possessed by an evil spirit. The rest of the story consists of how the couple get rid of the ghost.

The success of the entire film lies on Poorna's shoulders. Her expressions and acting are outstanding. Harshvardhan Rane did not have anything new to offer in terms of acting.

Ravi Babu's narrative is smooth and gripping. His screenplay keeps the audience the edge of their seats. The suspense element is maintained till the climax of the film.

Cinematographer Sameer Reddy's camerawork is also commendable as the entire film is shot with a static camera.

Overall, definitely worth a watch for all horror movie lovers.
